S.T.O.P KIT Technology Presents New Research Report at Top Global Ophthalmology Conference

On April 27th at 14:00, at the 2023 ARVO Annual Meeting held in New Orleans, USA, we presented to the academic community the "Optical Modeling and Model Eye Analysis of S.T.O.P KIT Technology". The report showed that this new type of optical film can effectively help control the progression of myopia in children and adolescents, providing protection for their vision.

【Introduction to S.T.O.P KIT Technology】

 

S.T.O.P KIT (Spatio-Temporal-Optical-Phase) technology is a revolutionary nearsightedness management lens. It uses a series of optical elements with different orientations and meridian changes, arranged on the optical film to form a rotating asymmetrical structure. By changing the orientation of the film or replacing films with different designs, dynamic optical signals are provided for the wearer's eyes. This dynamic signal is expected to reduce the progression of nearsightedness and maintain long-term effectiveness.


【Research purpose and methods】

This study aims to compare the differences in dynamic optical effects between S.T.O.P KIT and STELLEST nearsightedness management lenses (ST, control group) through optical modeling and in vitro experiments. At the same time, the researchers studied whether the retinal signals obtained from the two evaluation methods were correlated. The research methods include optical modeling and a customized tabletop model eye (ME), among others. Using these methods, the researchers captured the wide-field point spread function (PSF) matrix with a simulated 25° visual field angle and 5 directional positions, with a 4mm pupil diameter as the reference.

 

【Research Conclusion】

S.T.O.P KIT slows myopia progression

Optical modeling results show that the dynamic indices of the three S.T.O.P KIT designs (E, F, and G) are higher than the control group ST. Experimental results show that the dynamic indices of S.T.O.P KIT designs at low and medium spatial frequencies are significantly higher than those of the control group.


 


【The significance of dynamic optical signals in myopia control】

This study confirms that S.T.O.P KIT technology has significant advantages in terms of dynamic optical signals for myopia control. Compared to the control group, the performance differences of S.T.O.P KIT design in different directions are greater, and the expected S.T.O.P KIT signal is also more obvious. This dynamic optical signal is expected to slow down the progression of myopia and maintain its effectiveness for a longer period of time. Compared to traditional myopia management lenses, S.T.O.P KIT technology provides wearers with a more dynamic and long-lasting visual experience.

The results of both optical modeling and in vitro experiments confirm that all S.T.O.P KIT designs are superior to STELLEST control lenses in terms of dynamic index. The research results obtained through optical modeling and experimental methods have good consistency. S.T.O.P KIT technology is expected to slow down the progression of myopia and provide more effective visual protection for children and adolescents.
